  • If you want the cheapest towing company in Christchurch, call us. We'll tell you who they are and what to look out for.

    We're more interested in looking after our customers and their cars than being cheap, but we are very competitive, especially when you factor in our reputation.

    The cost of towing a car varies, but typically you're looking at between $140 and $160 for towing a car in greater metropolitan Christchurch (e.g. Hornby to Sydenham or City to Papanui). The same rate applies to towing cars inside the Rangiora/Kaiapoi/Woodend area.

    If we need to use specialist equipment, extra people etc, or there are significant access problems, there is usually an additional cost, but we will always tell you before we go ahead.

    Towing cars to and from further afield (e.g. Amberley, Rolleston, Kaikoura etc) costs more.

  • The easiest way is to call us on 0800 TOW TAXI, 0800 869 829. Our friendly dispatch team will work out what you need, when we can do it and how much it's going to cost.

    Before you call, we're going to need to know:

    • When you need your car towed

    • Where we're towing it from and where it's going?

    • If it's a breakdown, an idea of what's wrong with it - can it be started or driven?

    • If it's an accident, how bad is the damage?

    • How we can get the keys?

    • Is it lowered?

  • If you need a lift to your mechanic (maybe to pick up a loan car), or if we're taking your car to your home address, in most cases we can take up to 2 people. If you need us to drop you off somewhere else, just ask when you book and we'll do our best to help you.

    If you have pets, they can be carried in your car, but not in the truck (safety).

  • We can tow almost every vehicle that is able to be driven with a Class 1 license, including LWB vans (e.g. Ford Transit or Mercedes Sprinter) up to a maximum weight of 4.5 tonnnes.

    We can usually tow boats, caravans or trailers as well as cars, so if you broke down with your boat on the back, just ask.

    And if you have anything else that you need shifting, just ask. We've had statues, sleepouts and even aeroplanes on our tow trucks.

  • Yes we can! If you've run out of juice and need to get to a charging station, or had an accident or broken down, we can help. In some instances we need to use dollies on the drive wheels to avoid damage, but we're skilled in towing EVs from Teslas to Leafs.
